Who I am

The short version: I am an interaction designer living in Seattle, WA. I am other things, too, but above all I am human. At least for now.

Me: catalyst, thinker, creator, infovore, technophile, humanity lover, optimist, friend.

Interests: creativity, design, emerging technologies, collective intelligence, Tikkun olam, real-time/ mobile/social web, data visualization, play, art, futurism, fun!

The longer version:  In June, 2011 I got my MS in Information Management. I focused my graduate studies in user-centered design, interaction design, and information architecture.  Since graduating I've worked on vehicle touchscreen devices, and with brands like eHarmony and T-Mobile.

I love people and ideas. I love creating manifestations of  my ideas (through sketches, wireframes, prototypes), figuring out what works and what doesn't, and *learning* from the process. The intersection of technology, humans, and design is a very sweet spot that I love to swim, play and think in.

You and I live in an exceptionally exciting time in History. The Internet and mobile technologies are radically enhancing our ability to communicate, share knowledge, collaborate and innovate. This is having a profound effect on our culture and power structures. Industries and institutions are being turned upside down and re-imagined. The music and news industries are the two most obvious examples, but we're seeing the effects in everything from Education to Philanthropy to Advertising.

Design has an important role to play for our collective future. It will better allow us to play, exchange ideas, work together, and more effectively tap into an amazing resource: all of us.
