



BLINC: Bionic Lens (with) Interactive Network Communication
Challenge
In my graduate Human Computer Interaction (HCI) design course we were tasked with envisioning the future of mobile (non-desktop) interaction in the year 2025 for a to-be-defined set of users. The project involved all stages of the user-centered design process from investigation to ideation to prototyping and evaluation. Additionally, it was our responsibility to come up with a compelling design problem and user group for which to design for.
Like much of the world, I became captivated by citizen and activists use of Twitter during the Iranian election in June 2009. It was inspiring to see how social media and the power of many were helping to thwart governmental repression. I advocated for the idea of designing for activists and citizens living under repressive regimes in 2025. My teammates bit, and we hit the ground running. Read more >>
