Something Juliet Shen said while I was a student in her graphic design class resonated deeply with me.  And that is, good designers get ideas and inspiration from having exposure to a lot of different fields. Knowing what is happening in everything from film to street art to bridge engineering is one of the fun and great things about being a designer.

Twitter has been my main vehicle for discovering and sharing ideas from diverse (yet related) fields and for finding and connecting with people I learn from and am inspired by.  I tweet about interaction design, the importance of play, data visualization, the future of journalism, user research, data as the underpinnings for web 3.0 and, really, anything my curiosity leads me to that I think is worth sharing with the world.  You can find me on Twitter here.  I'm currently experimenting augmenting my Twitter feed by blogging on Tumblr with some fun results: Maria Popova, one of my creativity heroes, retweeted me! (I know, I know: I'm a big Twitter dork :).)

While I was a research intern at my favorite tech blog, ReadWriteWeb.com (@rww), I got to write a little. Setting Data Free with Gapminder is my UX-y review of Hans Rosling's data visualization tool.

Me, We and Junto explores my passion with Venessa Miemis' new social technology experiment, ponderings over privacy, and how thrilling it is to connect with a stranger over ideas we're both excited about.

For an independent study I took with Kathy Gill on Gov 2.0, I maintained a  Wordpress blog. You can read all about my thoughts and things I learned about Gov 2.0 here.
